About Gulch Band
Gulch was an American hardcore punk band formed in Santa Cruz, California in 2016. Gulch is a 5-piece metal band originally from Santa Cruz, California, now based primarily in San Jose, formed in 2016. The band currently consists of Elliot Morrow (vocals), Cole Kakimoto & Christian Castillo (guitars), Mike Durrett (bass) and Sammy Ciaramitaro (drums). The mission statement of Gulch has always been simple: write songs that make you want to slam your head into a brick wall.
The band released only one studio album Impenetrable Cerebral Fortress (2020), as well as two EPs and one demo tape. They performed their final live performance on July 31, 2022, at the peak of their popularity. The New York Times credited them as one of the driving forces of American hardcore’s “Rennaissance” in the 2020s.
Gulch’s reputation for delivering electrifying live performances has contributed to their rising prominence. The band has taken their visceral energy on the road, participating in various tours and sharing stages with other notable acts in the punk and metal scenes. Their chaotic and intense stage presence has solidified their status as a must-see act for fans of aggressive and unrelenting music.
